Winching in Safety - One Day Course
(LANTRA Certified)
For some the ultimate off-road accessory, for others an essential part of their daily life.
For everyone the potential for serious injury if not used correctly.
Winches are versatile powerful and effective when used correctly. Our training course will show you how to operate a variety of winches in different situations as safely as possible.
Throughout the course you will use a variety of equipment including:
Hydraulic and Electric vehicle winches
Tirfor / Jetrope type winches
Steel wire and Plasma(HDPE) ropes
Ground anchors
Pulley blocks
You will learn how to check your winch and maintain it, select the appropriate equipment for the job and rig it correctly.
Successful completion of the course and assessment will result in award of a LANTRA Winch certificate - a nationally recognised safety training qualification.
Safety First
We only use lifting rated and CE certified equipment on out courses and recommend you do likewise.
In addition all our vehicles are fitted with emergency cut outs and recommend you do the same.
The provision of quality equipment, its correct maintenance and use will do more for your safety than anything else.
Beware of winch accessory kits which have non-certified equipment. Gloves supplied are also often of the incorrect type for handling wire rope.
Although this course is normally delivered at our training centre it can be delivered nationwide subject to meeting certain requirements.
